Nigerian superstar and darling of the country’s inner world, Davido, has made a resounding return to social media app Instagram after a hiatus powered by a tragedy.

Davido, who was set to perform at the World Cup closing ceremony in Qatar today, Sunday, December 18, made an impressive return with photos of himself featuring his girlfriend, Chioma. The images, which featured one of the singer grinning from ear to ear while Shioma held his monitor to his ear, read “Eta 1hr 🇶🇦 #worldcupqatar2022”.
The singer is set to take to the stage in Qatar to perform the official soundtrack of the FIFA World Cup “Come on, Come on.”
Davido had been cut off from social media following the tragic death of him and Chioma’s three-year-old son, Ifene. The singer stayed away even on his birthday, only appearing abroad to show support for his uncle during his installation as governor of Osun State.
