Awards Event in Africa AFRIMA has partnered with YouTube ahead of the 2023 edition of the awards ceremony to be held in Senegal.
Ahead of the highly anticipated 8th edition of the Pan African Music Awards (AFRIMA) tagged “Teranga Edition” to be held in Dakar, Senegal on 12-15 January 2023, global entertainment service YouTube has partnered with AFRIMA, in order to help provide educational sessions focused on Artist and support live broadcast of the awards.
AFRIMA, which is the pinnacle of African music recognition globally, is poised to ensure that the annual 4-day festival will be broadcasted to music lovers and stakeholders across the world.
Most importantly, YouTube will hold workshop sessions for African creators at the Africa Music Business Summit (one of the events in the 8th AFRIMA) to educate about visibility across the global creative ecosystem on a digital platform.
The global streaming service will also partner with the All Africa Music Awards in a special incubation program called the AFRIMA Creative Academy, which aims to empower 1 million Africans (and the diaspora) in the music industry and creativity in the next five years. Finally, the 8th AFRIMA Awards will be broadcast live from the red carpet – 4.30pm (WAT), while the main awards will start at 7.30pm (WAT). Angela Martins, Commissioner (AUC) said,

On his part, AFRIMA President and Executive Producer, Mr. Mike Dada commended the streaming service for its support to the African creative economy. He said,

As the entire world heads towards the 8th edition of the All Africa Music Awards, AFRIMA, which will take place from 12th to 15th January 2023, African music fans are encouraged to continue voting massively for the coveted winners, using the voting portal live at www.afrima. org and participate in events on social media platforms (IG / TikTok – @afrima.official; Facebook – Afrimawards; Twitter -afrimaofficial; LinkedIn – AFRIMA). The voting process that determines the AFRIMA winners is audited by the world-renowned auditing firm, Pricewaterhousecoopers (PWC).
As announced at the conference, delegates are expected to arrive on January 11, 2020. The AFRIMA Gala is scheduled to begin in full on Thursday January 12, 2023, with the host country tour, school visit and gift giving (as part of AFRIMA’s CSR), as well as a Soiree welcome In the evening, in Dakar.
The 4-day event continues on Friday 13 January 2023, with the Africa Music Business Summit (AMBS) at the Grand Theatre, in Dakar.
AMBS is Africa’s largest gathering of creative professionals in the music industry, featuring workshops and panel discussions on issues and opportunities in the African music industry.
The eighth AFRIMA will continue with great momentum at the Grand Theatre’s AFRIMA Music Village, which will be a free-to-enter gala featuring live performances from music’s biggest stars across the continent.
On the eve of the awards ceremony, on Saturday January 14, 2023, the events will kick off with key rehearsals, media engagements and a courtesy visit by the President of Senegal.
There will also be a live recording booth in place for musicians in all five regions of the continent, and in the diaspora, to explore collaborative recordings. The day’s activities will culminate with the exclusive Nominees party.
Finally, the 8th AFRIMA will conclude on Sunday, January 15, 2023, at the Dakar Arena with a capacity of 15-000 people, in Dakar, with the award ceremony live through 104 television stations to more than 84 countries around the world.
