Selima Masekela is the son of Haitian mother and South African jazz musician Hugh Masekela. He is a big lover of jazz sound and has his own band by the name of Alexam. His songs have been featured in major films such as; footnote And the House of lies.
His father, Hugh Masekela, is referred to as the father of South African jazz. He is also known as an activist who advocated for freedom through music. He is best known for writing well-known anti-apartheid songs such as “Soweto Blues” and “Bring Him Home”.
