
Burna Boy and the late Fela Kuti received notable recognition from the international entertainment publishing company, Rolling Stone Magazine.
Rolling Stone magazine has named two talented Nigerian artists, Grammy Award winner Burna Boy, and the legend and King of Afrobeat himself, the late Fela Kuti, among the greatest singers of all time.
The two artists have been recognized for their vocal abilities and how they convey their messages to their fans.
Rolling Stone released a list of the 200 Greatest Singers of All Time and Burna Boy came in at number 197, while Fela Kuti ranked at number 188. The list is made up of some of the biggest and greatest artists of all time, and Burna and Fela were also recognized for their enormous contribution to the growth of African music .
Rolling Stone described Fela as an iconic figure who, through his music, shared his views on political and social issues. Rolling Stone explained that it was not only his words that conveyed the message but that his voice through the way he sang conveyed his message as well.
Burna Boy has been described as a cultural giant and ambassador for Afrobeats. His voice has been rated as sweet as caramel, enhanced by deep bass accents and “sophisticated polyrhythms”.
