More than 6,000 Nigerians have signed the petition to prevent an alternative artist from winning the AFRIMA 20223.
Nigerian vocal artist, Olawale Ibrahim Ashmi Salfaripopularly known as PrimoHe constantly faces public wrath due to his recent online activities in connection with the upcoming general elections.

In an update on events, Nigerian, Charles Ogundela petition against the alternative singer, with the motive of making sure that the public prevents the singer from winning the 2023 All Africa Music Award (AFRIMA). According to the petition, which has so far received 6,000 signatures, including that of Primo, it states:
To prevent him from winning the All Africa Music Award would send a strong message to him and people like him that he cannot get away with such blatant racism.
