Nigeria’s Electoral Commission INEC has confirmed a new deadline for PVC collection in the country ahead of the 2023 general elections.
In a recent development, the Nigerian Electoral Commission INEC has confirmed a new date as the deadline for Nigeria’s PVC collection in the country’s 2023 general election plans.
The initial deadline, which was scheduled for Saturday January 22, 2023, has been extended to January 29, 2023 following a meeting on Thursday January 12, 2023.
An official statement was issued by the IEC National Commissioner, Festus Okoyewa, confirming this change by the Electoral Commission, the statement reads as follows:
The Commission is determined to ensure that registered voters have ample opportunity to collect their certificates before the next elections. For this reason, the timeframe for collecting PVCs has been extended by eight days, instead of ending on Sunday 22nd January 2023, the collection of PVCs will continue until Sunday 29th January 2023. Currently, the collection period is 9.00am – 3.00pm daily (incl. Saturday and Sunday).
