Grammy-winning producer Swizz Beatz opened up about how he introduced Wizkid and Burna Boy to America in a recent interview.
In a recent ’roundtable’ on Amazon Prime, legendary producer Swizz Beatz opened up about how he and his wife, Alicia Keys, were the first to introduce two of today’s biggest afrobeat artists, Wizkid and Burna Boy, to America.
Swizz revealed how he and his wife were the first people to actually play Wizkid’s Ojuelegba for People in 2015. He also opened up about how he performed Burna Boy on stage at his first major performance in the US as well.
He revealed that he was seen as very African when he started listening to more Fela Kuti and afrobeats as a whole.
