
A Lagos court has released musician Afrobeat on bail after he was charged by the Nigerian police.
It has been reported that the Nigerian police force has raided the home of Ace Afrobeat musician Seun Kuti to search him.
The Grammy-nominated singer became a nationwide topic after he was seen on video assaulting a police officer on a third mainland bridge in Lagos. Following the horrific incident, the Nigerian Police Force proceeded with the arrest of Son Kuti in the early hours of this morning Monday 15th May 2023.
According to several reports, officers from the Lagos State Police Command raided the residence of Akin Osemi in Son Koti on Tuesday, 17th May 2023, off Allen Street, Ikeja, Lagos, looking for more evidence to bring the singer to light.

According to reports, the musician was escorted by cops while they were combing his apartment, eventually confiscating his wife’s phone when they were finished.
Siyon was charged with assaulting a police officer, an offense in violation of Article 356 of the Criminal Code. The singer was granted bail after Judge Adeola Olatonboson ordered the police to complete their investigation within 48 hours.
