Reports have indicated that seven players may leave Chelsea FC as the 2022/2023 football season ends.
With the search for a new manager at Chelsea intensifying, the club’s board led by Todd Bohle have reportedly taken decisive steps towards re-establishing the squad by approving the exit of seven players.
The move comes as no surprise, as the Blues are keen to regain their competitive edge and return to winning form, these players find themselves at a crossroads, facing an uncertain future and the need to look for new opportunities elsewhere as top clubs have shown interest in signing some players. They are scheduled to leave the club.
In early 2023, transfer-related news broke confirming Chelsea’s plans for a major liquidation, with the aim of streamlining the squad and facilitating effective management under a new manager.
The club’s decision to let go of a large number of players was motivated by a desire to create a more manageable team structure as the current number of players at Stamford Bridge today, is often attributed to one of the reasons for the failure of managers to deliver results.
The players who have been confirmed to have made this exit are:
Pierre Emerick Aubameyang
Mateo Kovacic
Christian Pulisic
Hakim Ziyech
Edward Mindy
Callum Hudson-Odoi
Ruben Loftus-Cheek
Reportedly, Chelsea are set to make this decision according to the latest transfer news as they close to securing an agreement for Mauricio Pochettino, the former manager of Paris Saint-Germain and Tottenham Hotspur.
