
Davido opened up about how the global trend of Afrobeats began with him and Wizkid mentioned how other artists such as Burna Boy, Asaki, Rima, and more have been contributing in recent times.
In an interview with Brut Afrique, award-winning singer and instrumentalist David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, opened up about the first two Nigerian artists to put Afrique’s sound on the music map globally.
Davido mentioned how the worldwide popularity of afrobeats began with him and Wizkid, noting that other artists such as Burna Boy, Rema, Asake, and others have continued to popularize the audio recently.

The singer, who has set several records with his fourth studio album titled Timeless, which will be released on March 31, 2023, is set to tour North America. The singer also hinted at releasing the deluxe edition of “Timeless” with Mavin Records CEO, Don Jazzy.
